Telephones
Both of these captioned phones work great. You do have to have a land line & high speed Internet or DSL to make them work. They each have their own special features. You can also purchase a Voice Carry Over (VCO) phone through Ameriphone, Harris Communication, or Hearing Speech and Deafness Center (HSDC) in Seattle or get one through the state Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH). You do not have to have the Internet with this phone, but you do have to use their relay service. Application for Telecommunication Equipment from The link above is an application with ODHH funded by Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). There are varieties of phones and accessories for special needs and for low income people. Most people can get them free or very low cost such as VCO phone or TTY phone. Application and pictures of phones/accessories are included in this link. Just scroll down the page. While Hearing Loss Association of Snohomish County does not endorse products or services, we try to let people know what is available or on the market. |
